Asahi brand deck shoes are made using a traditional method called vulcanization. Its unique feature is that, although it takes more time and effort, it makes the rubber sole stronger and more elastic, resulting in excellent durability. Another attractive feature of this method is that it is less likely to lose its shape and maintains a beautiful silhouette. Currently, only a few companies, including Asahi, are able to carry out this manufacturing method in Japan. Each pair of shoes is carefully produced using rare techniques. [Vulcanization process] These sneakers are made using the traditional vulcanization method. The rubber sole is stronger and more elastic than the traditional sole, making it more durable. ASAHI Since its founding in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1892, this shoe manufacturer has supported Japan's shoe culture for over 120 years. The company has its own factory in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and has long prospered through the manufacturing of rubber products.It carries out all-in-one production from rubber onwards, and it is said that this has led to the company's current production of shoes. We continue to make shoes using the techniques we have developed over our 120-year history. We use the production methods, techniques, and manufacturing methods from that time, and make use of lasts from the 1970s and traditional techniques to provide shoes that can be worn by both men and women, such as deck shoes and slip-ons.
