Kerry Woolen Mills is based in Kerry, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of southwest Ireland. The company was originally founded in Scotland but moved to Ireland in 1904 by the Eddie family. They have been producing fabrics and yarns from fine wool for over 300 years and still remain true to the traditions of their founding, making them popular throughout Ireland and around the world. Kerry Woolen Mills, located in the naturally rich southwest of Ireland, is a factory with full-scale production facilities where it spins its own wool. The wool used is from sheep raised on organic farms without being fed synthetic feed, maintaining the elasticity and suppleness of British pure wool. As an environmental consideration, dyeing is kept to a minimum, allowing the natural colour of the wool to shine through. In recent years, the company has factories not only in Ireland but also in the UK, and continues to provide traditional, high-quality products. This sweater is made using fisherman rib, one of Kerry Woollen Mills' classic styles. This traditional ribbed knit, which originated from the knitwear once worn by fishermen, is thick, has excellent heat retention, and has just the right amount of stretch.
