[ NANGA ]
NANGA was founded in 1941 by the previous president, Akira Yokota, in the Omi cotton-wool futon production area.
The company name comes from the 8,000- meter-high peak "Nanga Parbat" in the Himalayas. We are a domestic "feather product" manufacturer founded 74 years ago in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Ibuki.
Nanga Parbat is the ninth highest mountain in the world at 8,126m above sea level and is also known as the "Man-eating Mountain".
It refers to a mountain that is difficult to climb and has claimed many lives in the past, and the company name embodies the founder's belief that "we will do it precisely because it is difficult, we will climb where no one else has climbed."
NANGA's specialty is feathers.
Thanks to the know-how we have cultivated over the years in selecting, washing, and managing feathers, we are able to continue producing warmer feather products.
[Feathers carefully washed in Japan]
All feathers used by NANGA are washed and processed by feather processing manufacturer Kawada Feather.
The processing plant is located in the Ise Plain in Mie Prefecture, and the rich environment surrounded by mountains provides excellent processing conditions thanks to the water (ultra-soft water) and the ideal drying climate, producing high-quality down.
[Made by skilled craftsmen]
Because we have our own factory, we are able to utilize the skills of our experienced craftsmen for everything from feather blowing, sewing, maintenance, and NANGA's unique manufacturing techniques, and by carefully performing each process, we create safe and secure products.
