Description

This is the first patent model crew neck sweatshirt, a reproduction of the earliest "REVERSE WEAVE®," which was developed in 1934 and obtained a manufacturing patent in 1938. The "REVERSE WEAVE®" manufacturing method was invented by Sam Friedland, a salesman who had worked as a cutter at the long-established American men's clothing store Hickey Freeman, after a customer pointed out to him that his clothes were shrinking after washing. To solve this problem, we came up with a manufacturing method after much trial and error. By using the fabric, which is normally used vertically, horizontally, we were able to successfully reduce shrinkage. This reproduction product faithfully reproduces seamless shoulders made from a single piece of fabric with no seams at the shoulders, and the manufacturing method of the time, which involved creating a pattern from a tubular sweatshirt. The collar name, which did not say "REVERSE WEAVE®" at the time, has also been reproduced. In addition, the C logo patch on the left sleeve has also been omitted, remaining the same as the original specifications.
